Question: My 2000 silverado is stuck in 4wd
My 2000 silverado 2500 autotrac was stuck in 4 lo.A mechanic told me I needed a new transfer case.I installed a used one But know it only goes in 4 hi or autotrac,and service 4 wd lights on. when I bought transfercase the encoder motor was not on it.He said he tried it on something else but wouldn't work.I just bolted it back on.Can it be in wrong position?I can hear it trying to work.I even bought a new scanner to read tranny codes.Couldn't get any.May have to reread book.Also replaced selector switch.Im stumped.Any advice is appreciated.Thanks
